Rugs of North Africa

In recent years there has been quite a vogue in the United States for the native rugs of Morocco. They fit well into modern decora­tion because of their interesting texture and light color.

These rugs are rather coarse and loosely woven, with a long shaggy pile. The wool is always an undyed natural color-white, cream, beige and brown.

Their designs are made up of simple angular forms—diamonds, triangles, stripes and squares.
